Ireland
Ireland, Eire, The Emerald Isle, Land of a thousand welcomes; whatever you call it, it all says the same thing – variety and accessibility. From the cosmopolitan hustle and bustle of Dublin City and Belfast to the warm vibrant charm of Kilkenny and Dunbrody, from the fresh green Wicklow Mountains to the mystical lakes of Glendalough, from the majestic castles of Trim and Birr to the wondrous Caves of Dunmore. No other country offers so much diversity in landscape, culture, history and adventure, and all so close to the capital, where you’ll be based when studying at the Dublin School of English.
Ireland is the third-largest island in Europe, and the twentieth-largest island in the world. It lies to the north-west of continental Europe and is surrounded by hundreds of islands and islets. To the east of Ireland, separated by the Irish Sea, is the island of Great Britain.
We Are A Young Nation
The population of Ireland is approximately 6 million and just under 40% of those people are under twenty-five. So, Ireland is a young, fun and vibrant place to come and study.
English in Ireland
English is the first language of Ireland and is spoken by everyone. Ireland is known for its rich literary heritage and is the only country in the world to have produced four Nobel Prize for Literature winning authors.
The Weather
The short answer – we have lots of weather!
The climate is temperate maritime, with no extreme highs or lows. You’ll be astounded by how green everything is here.
