Host Families
Host Families (Standard and Executive)
Staying in an Irish host family is an ideal opportunity to experience the Irish culture and also practice English conversation.
All our families are carefully selected, inspected and monitored by the Schools Accommodation Department. There is no outsourcing to other companies. We want to be in control to ensure you are happy.
In Dublin, Irish families live in the suburbs with an average commuting time to the city centre of 30 – 45 minutes.
Accommodation is in a single or shared room (depending on the course you are taking) and pat-board (breakfast, dinner and packed lunch at weekends).
If you have any special requests (for example you need a special diet, have allergies or do/don’t like cats) we can usually cater for this. Just let us know when you book your course.
Host Families (City Centre)
City centre host families are within a maximum of 30 minutes walk (usually less than 20 minutes) of the school. Walking time is calculated using Google Maps directions. Accommodation is provided in a single or shared room with breakfast only. Students are allowed access to the kitchen, washing machine, etc, just as if they were sharing an apartment with the apartment owner.
Please note that city centre host families are in limited supply. We cannot guarantee a native English speaker host family. If this is important to you choose a standard host family.
